 2024 UMFF " Work With Asian" Panel

Asian has a huge boost to the production and success of domestic films. Asian film revenues have grown by 15% a year for the past 10 years. Asian Film Projects are looking for Western filmmakers to participate in their movies. A window of opportunity has opened for the Western directors, screenwriters, Scrip doctors, cinema photographers, musical composters, Animators, actors, etc. Come to meet the delegations of Asian investors, producers, directors, and find out the pitfalls, common misunderstandings, and industry myths for working with the Asian films. The panelists will attempt to address these issues during the discussion.

Yin Dawei, Director
The famous director Yin Dawei is known as the ceiling-level director of Chinese opera films. Main director works: "Butterfly", "Beijing Police Squad", "Ma Mingfeng Xiao Xiao", "Angels Guarding Life", "Pearl of the Night", "Mrs.Yeah“ "Mama Gu", "Angel Wings", "Looking for Lei Feng", "Little Queen Zhou", "A Cup of Fate", "Father, Father" "Rocket Quail", "The Tambourine that Becomes the Sun", "Sansan", "Moving House", "An'e", "The Legend of White Snake", "Jiangnan Rain", etc.
He has won: TV drama Feitian Award, Golden Eagle Award, movie Golden Rooster Award, etc. He was  the Jury of Cannes International Film Festival, France; Judge of the American International Film Festival,USA and Jury of Venice International Film Festival, Italy
Trevor Morgan Doyle, Producer
Trevor Morgan Doyle is an award-winning producer and filmmaker from Southern California. Mr. Doyle’s film career began when he was working as an Archaeologist and Reindeer herder in Northern Finland. While in Finland he made his first film, IN THE SHADOW OF PALLAS, a documentary about Finnish war evacuees. He hasn’t stopped since. Trevor has had three films selected for the Cannes Film, Short Corner, and has contributed to the major feature films MONGOL:THE RISE OF GENGHIS KHAN by Sergei Bodrov, both ARN films, and PAST TIME, DISTURBIA and HOUNDOG. Mr. Doyle has directed music videos and web content productions for both European and American markets, including the development of a TV production on experimental archaeology and cooking — two of his passions and areas of expertise. Trevor has produced shows for both TV and subscription based channels including THE LIST, SECS & EXECS, ANIMAL HOUSE and STUCK. Recently, Trevor joined Frozen Flame Pictures to create Europe’s first true super hero feature titled RENDEL. They have secured international distribution for RENDEL at The Cannes Film Festival, and distribution in China. Mr. Doyle’s most recent film is the Mongolian epic THE STEED. Trevor is currently working on several American and Central Asian projects with his company Three Flames Pictures.
Crystal J. Huang, Actress, Producer, Director
Crystal is a multifaceted artist, excelling as a film actress, producer, director, and acclaimed dancer and photographer. Crystal has both produced and portrayed numerous roles in films, often alongside well-known talent. Her credits include "Bermuda Island" and "Amber Road" with Tom Sizemore, "American Comedy" with Eric Roberts, and "Mistletoe Massacre" with Bai Ling. She has also assumed lead roles in "Demons at Dawn," "Dinner with the Devil," "Cupid’s Paradise," and "Boarding House." Her performances have earned her multiple movie awards, setting the stage of her own feature movie. Her most recently produced and directed film "Dark Feathers” that received many awards such as Rome Prisma Award, the New York Script Award. Best Actress award at the London Independent Film Awards, as well as the Best Producer awards at the Cult Critic Movie Award for the Best Feature Film
Benny Tjandra; Producer/Director/Videographer/Editor
Benny Tjandra is an acclaimed Asian American Director, Producer, Writer, Action Director DP, and Editor. Benny was born in Indonesia. At age 10 came to California to pursue his dream as a filmmaker. He makes a promise at his mother's graveyard to do what it takes to be one of the best Filmmaker in Hollywood, and the rest of the world. His upcoming action features films are "Prey of Wrath" (2023), "American Western" (2022), "Kill Plan" (2021), "Nation Fire" (2019), "Syndicate Smasher" (2017), "Bloodline: Love Sick 2" (2018). He has Produced 20s feature films in the past and has 9 upcoming features film in Pre-production in 2023. He is the founder and CEO of “New GenerAsian Pictures". He has major connections in the USA, Indonesia, and the Philippines with all the movie production needed. Benny won many awards and is considered a visionary director and filmmaker whose work has made an indelible and substantial contribution to the Hollywood industry
  Nelson Trinidad, Actor, Producer, Director
Nelson is an Indie Actor, Film Maker, Director, Writer Producer from Manilla Hollywood and Lao Hollywood, and Media Person Manila Sands Today LA KXLATV44. He has been worked over 15 films that all related with Asian. He is known for Elephant Stomp (2021), The Bodyguards and Love Never Dies.
